Sculptures

The sculpture Pete is standing next to is actually in the shape of Cameroon. The colors are of the Cameroonian flag, yellow, red, and green. The other shot is of the side of a building, it is a tile mosaic. The trip was totally worth the hour+ ride in the back of the school van. I wish I could have taken pictures of the roads we traveled over to get there… they looked like dry creek beds, with rocks and crevices and garbage too. Once we got to the town we had to stop and ask for directions. The difficulty in that is of course language, Claudette took care of that. Also, what looks like just a dirt alley is actually considered a road, so sometimes I am not sure how the drivers know it’s OK to drive down. It is almost like going off-roading, except we’re in a Toyota 13 passenger van.
