Living Room

Peter is reading through some school stuff in the living room. The furniture was all provided by the school. Fred covets the pattern on our couch as our dining room set is the only one with seat cushions. As you can see we have nothing to fill our shelves with yet, once the shipment comes it will look better. There are several ladies from school who have offered to take us to the markets to shop once things settle down a little bit. It’s hard to live in a cash society, just starting a home because we are just hemorrhaging money right now. Every Friday we have to calculate how much money we might need over the weekend and cash a check at the school, because there is only one ATM here. Never mind it will all be written in French and the whole exchange thing, there is no way I am standing anywhere near a public money machine and asking for trouble. We have not been bothered so far, but have been very cautious, and don’t want to become a target. The photo on the right is of our redone termite free (?) ceiling. In both the pictures you can make out the outline of the jagged scar the ceiling left as it plummeted down. They just varnished some big sheets of wood, did not replace the intricate patterned stuff. However, my pink room has pile of sawdust all over as does Pete’s office, so it will be interesting how all that will “fall” into place.
