Saturday Adventure

For this trip the people along with Pete and I were: Claudette, Harry, Fred, Marianne, Meredith, Nanci, and our driver, Fabien. Yesterday we went to the Centre d’Art Applique, which is a school in Mbalmayo. It is for high school aged kids to learn sculpture, painting, and ceramics. It was amazing to see the work there. We were given a tour of the grounds. It is right next to a Catholic hospital. Our librarian, Claudette, a Canadian by birth, is married to a Cameroonian, and has lived here for 20 years or so. She took us under her wing and was our translator as the people at the school all spoke French. The Director of the school was there too and he was very proud to show off his school.
