Katie's Birthday

Saturday night we had a girls’ night out to celebrate Katie’s birthday. We all went to Patrice’s restaurant “La Paillote”. He is the chef at school too. It was delicious Chinese/Vietnamese. It was even more delightful because it was the first time just the females from the building ventured out at night. Night driving is scary. On the way home at the last turn, there was a car with flashing lights. Immediately Meredith and I were warning Marianne to just gun it and not to slow down because we thought it was a cop. The flashing car turned out to be a tricked out taxi! We associated the red and blue lights with the police—how American.
