Away we go....
On the 27th we left for Buea (Boya) with our car loaded down, high hopes, and many small bills for the toll stops. We did well, only having to turn around maybe twice. We were stopped by the Gendarme 3 times and police once. Luckily we have every single piece of stamped and official paperwork that they ask for so no problem. It actually helped the one time to get flagged down as we were lost and they pointed us in the right direction. One set of Gendarme were drunk and asked us for cool drinks, we just laughed and they passed us on.
These tress are at the beginning of the Mount Cameroon trek. It starts out as one tree, then a second one struggles for years and years to take over. Eventually, the parasite tree wins and the original tree becomes sawdust, thus the big openings.
