Christmas
Peter and I spent a quiet Christmas in our empty apartment building. We did the usual walk up to Mount Febe and then opened gifts. The musical instrument he is holding is made from a calabash and leather. It is similar to a guitar. Pete and I are wearing material we got in Bamenda. My outfit is a bit more traditional than I had hoped for. With the tailors, I think they are so cheap because they always end up doing what they want, instead of what you ask for during the laborious consultation/negotiations. I asked for black material and a ¾ length sleeve. I got shiny black material and angel wings sleeves. Ahh well, despite my outfit shouting, “Hey look at me, I am trying to assimilate as best I can!”, I can at least wear the skirt back in the states.
