The Shipment
On Tuesday the much anticipated container shipment arrived. This container held all of the school's supplies for the year, all the items the teachers ordered, and all of our personal items too. For two weeks we would get little rumors here and there of where the container was supposed to be. Then it even made it into the Daily Bulletin that the container was in Duoala. Over the weekend the hype heightened that it would be here Monday, at Monday's staff meeting they said the next day... and it did finally come. The container was an 18 wheeler. It somehow made it down the driveway of the campus and even backed in. The biggest obstacle was to unload this huge generator (the size of 2 SUV's) with a forklift half its size. I watched in awe as the workers tried making a stand to support it, Jenga style, on an incline. It made my previously crushed left hand throb in horror. Several hours and many spectators later they got it off. Then the real work began. Every custodian, guard, and Canteen worker available helped to unload it. Of course, ours were the last ones off as we were the first ones to send them to sit there for months, back in May.
The pictures in this entry are of one of the boxes I got. The previous teacher had ordered rulers. They came in the box pictured on the left. JUST 6 RULERS! That's it, oh and about 10 feet of paper that I will be reusing as an art project at a later date. What's even worse was that there were other items ordered from the same company and they didn't combine it!!!!!!!!!!!
The other picture is of the a bag of Jolly Ranchers. They somehow vaccummed into a big blob. I haven't tried to open them yet.
