My Classroom
The picture on the left is of my classroom, the first day I saw it. I was a bit dissapointed at how filthy everything was and the state of some of the furniture. Ok, I admit it, I went home and cried to Pete. I then bucked up and got it together because this is was finally going to be my classroom, something I had been wishing for for the last 3 years. Living in a place where the soil is red leaves everything coated with dust. Also, this is a tropical climate so there is a lot of mold. It is amazing how quickly you can get accustomed to a slightly different level of cleanliness- I just have to accept that I can't control everything. Did you ever think I would say something that profound? Yeah, me neither. The center and right pictured are the "after" shots. I got the room painted an obnoxious blue(the only color choice available) and moved all the furniture around. At the time, six long weeks ago, all of the custodians came to tell me I had the best room. Former fifth graders stopped by to tell me they liked the improvements too. About a week ago I got an airconditioner and now all the kids do is complain that I like it too cold, too bad!
